Clothing Swap

As a follow-up to our fast fashion documentary screening and in honor of Earth Day, we put our new found awareness to work by hosting a successful clothing swap. The community was able to liven up their closet sustainably!

Fast Fashion Film Screening and Q&A

We hosted an eye-opening film screening of The True Cost, a 2015 documentary highlighting the impact of the fashion industry on people and planet.

We heard people’s reactions to the content, talked about what’s changed in the industry and with consumer consciousness over the last 8 years, and what solutions look like.

Dragon Boat Festival

We recruited a team of 20+ people to race with us (& more to cheer us on) to support Cumberland River Compact, a non-profit whose vision is CLEAN + ABUNDANT water.

3 million people + thousands of species depend on clean water from the Cumberland River!

Playing for the Planet: a Backyard Benefit Bash

In East Nashville, we hosted a backyard concert — Playing for the Planet 🤘🌎🤘

Ticket sales & donations went to Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC), a nonprofit dedicated to protecting the basic right to clean air, clean water, and a livable climate; to preserve our region’s natural treasures and rich biodiversity; and to provide a healthy environment for all.

We provided burgers 🍔, a keg 🍺 from Living Waters Brewing, custom cocktail 🍸 from Cathead Distillery, entertainment from local musicians 🎻🎤, and coffee + affogatos aka espresso + ice cream🍦available for purchase from Sine Wave ☕️

Sustainability Panel @ Soho House

We celebrated Earth Day with a cocktail hour in the secret garden at Soho House Nashville. We were joined by a panel of local creatives & entrepreneurs, who are incorporating sustainability into their pursuits - both personal & professional. We also learned from horticulturist, Lilly Oaks, tips for planting, and provided giveaways from Nashville’s sustainable finest businesses.

The panel was moderated by Charlotte Allan (Bloom) and featured Meg Morgan (Root Nashville), Raven Hernandez (Earth Rides), Leah Simon (The Box Co.), Patrick Hayes (Aberdeen Studio), and Van Hoang (fashion designer).

State hike led by Sam V

Did you know Tennessee has 56 state parks? As a native Tennessean, Sam is passionate and educated about all the local hiking spots. We carpooled to Grundy Forest State Natural area @ South Cumberland State Park to explore the gorgeous, unique terrain ending at a waterfall where the bravest of us took a plunge!

Eco-friendly holiday shopping

We took a group to Sage Refill Market, a zero waste refill shop offering package-free and bulk refill home and personal care items.

Silent Disco in Nature

We collaborated with Sun Spark Disco for a Morning Silent Disco in Nature: Halloween Edition. It was an experience full of joy and movement as we danced in costume through East Nashville’s beautiful greenways in Shelby Park.

Rief Launch Party

We celebrated the launch of new sustainable lifestyle company, Rief, at CAMP - a National Parks focused bar raising money & awareness to save America’s preserved lands.

Farm Excursion

With @devonhanna as our teacher, we learned to plant, hoe, & harvest organic veggies at Pinewood Farms just outside of Nashville 🌱🌱🌱... and dined for lunch at their farm-to-table restaurant.

Earth Day Nashville

We learned about local Nashville environmental initiatives & supported sustainable small businesses. The event featured live music, local food vendors, first come first serve trees available to take home, & a collaborative art project.

Coffee Walk, Trash Talk

We hosted a neighborhood trash pick-up ending at Elegy, a local coffee shop to connect further with the community.
